چکیده

The goal of the GINSU project is to guarantee network accessibility by an end-host, even in the event of an attempted denial of service or resource exhaustion attack. To provide this guarantee of accessibility, we augment an existing operating system’s network stack with finegrained resource monitoring and controls. We also provide tools and guidelines for administration and deployment of this system.

An Introduction to Network Stack Design Using Software Design Patterns

“Tenet 1: Let 1000 networks bloom”. This is the first principle of the EU IST project 4WARD and sets out one of the primary goals of this project – to explore new approaches that will allow present and future networks to be interoperable within a common architectural framework. As part of our work, we propose a software architecture for the future Internet realizing this core goal. This paper p...

Model Based Protocol Fusion for MANET-Internet Integration

With the wide adoption of wireless communication technologies, the current networking design of the Internet architecture has shown some limitations. Restricted by inherent layering constraints, valuable networking information cannot flow freely inside the network stack and potential operational optimizations are impossible to achieve. To overcome these limitations, we extend the current trend ...

Security vulnerabilities in the Internet and possible solutions

The foundation of today's Internet is the TCP/IP protocol suite. Since the time when these specifications were finished in early 1980's, the Internet has grown from a network connecting a small community of researchers to its present state a huge global network connecting people of all types. The TCP and IP protocols were designed assuming the users trusted each other and lacks many features de...

Experimental Study on a 1000W Dead-End H2/O2 PEM Fuel Cell Stack with Cascade Type for Improving Fuel Utilization

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) with a dead-ended anode and cathode can obtain high hydrogen and oxygen utilization by a comparatively simple system. Nevertheless, the accumulation of the water in the anode and cathode channels might cause a local fuel starvation degrading the performance and durability of PEMFCs. In this study, a brand new design for a polymer electrolyte membrane...

Policies for dynamic stack composition

Currently, protocol stacks operate in various contexts and it is therefore not possible to know the required properties of a stack (both functional and non-functional) in advance. The stack has to be dynamically built up from components, based on the requirements and the momentary situation. The first step in building the stack is to determine the component types to be used and the stack archit...
